  • Regular Eye Exams


One vital action you can take is to make a point of having regular eye exams. Eye exams are the most efficient way to keep your eye health in check. They are important even if you have a perfect vision. The human brain is unique in adapting and adjusting quickly to ensure things remain the same. 
 

While this is amazing, it can also work against you, especially regarding vision. If you have an issue, your brain will adjust and keep doing so until the issue worsens. Regular eye exams ensure that you detect these conditions early on. 
 

  • Eat a Healthy Diet


As with any other part of your body, your eyes require wholesome nutrition to be effective. While you may not prevent eye conditions with a good diet, you can significantly lower your chances of getting one. For instance, a diet rich in antioxidants is positively associated with cataract development. 
 

  • Use Safety Eyewear


Eye injuries are some of the most common workplace injuries, but most are preventable. Eye injuries happen, especially when working in construction and labs or playing contact sports. With just a pair of safety goggles, you can ensure your eyes are safe from any impact or foreign objects that can damage them. While they cover the eyes, eyeglasses and sunglasses cannot offer the same protection. 
 

  • Limit Screen Time


Excessive screen time is the leading cause of digital eyestrain and is also linked to myopia development. Limiting screen time by taking breaks between work is a great way to keep your eyes healthy.
